Feldstein Jewelers is a full-service, independent jewelry store, catering to a high-end clientele. A family-owned operation, it specializes in engagement rings, along with offering other jewelry, watches, gifts and services including cleaning, repairs and appraisals.
First opened in 1892 in Marinette, Wis., the owners decided to add a second location in a growing area on the outskirts of nearby Green Bay. A new, 6,000-square-foot building was constructed, offering an open palette for flooring but with the challenge of mixing a layout of hard and soft surfaces in the showroom to create an inviting atmosphere.
Masland’s Found Money carpet was installed in office areas, plus a portion of the showroom. It was complemented in the showroom by Armstrong Parallel luxury vinyl tile, which also was utilized in the building’s restrooms.
The showroom was dressed up by the addition of an accent through the installation of a backsplash.
Identification of the right flooring product, in color and pattern, for the jeweler’s workroom was a critical problem solved as stones and gems needed to be visible to the eye should they get dropped.
Product durability and maintenance also were considerations in all public areas, needing to withstand the demands of a retail environment.
