Project Description:

As part of a shift to a more technology-based, collaborative approach, St. Mary Catholic Middle School reconfigured its educational spaces. The 59,000 square-foot facility’s new classrooms were arranged in grade-level pods, with adjacent group learning areas.

For the group spaces, bright, vivid colors were desired to create a fun, learning environment, while also requiring durability, ease of maintenance and enhanced acoustics. Mannington Audio Spectra premium rubber tiles were chosen to fit these needs.  Six colors were utilized in the 6,677 SF installation.

Complementary flooring included Mannington Elemental Brights & Solids modular tile (707 SF), J&J Runway modular tile (560 SF), Mannington ColorSpec rubber (319 SF), Mannington Essentials resilient (55 SF in three colors) and Tandus Centiva 6’ rolled carpet.

The project entailed a firm September completion date in order for the facility to be ready for the start of the 2015-16 school year.
