H.J. Martin and Son wins AGC BUILD Wisconsin Award for SECURA Headquarters

This is 24th overall AGC Award H.J. Martin and Son has won in company history

Green Bay, Wis. –  The Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Wisconsin has honored H.J. Martin and Son with a 2021 BUILD Wisconsin Award in the Specialty Contractor-Finishes category for its glass and flooring installation work on the SECURA Insurance Companies new headquarters in Fox Crossing, Wis.

This marks the 24th AGC award received by H.J. Martin and Son since the inception of the honor in 2003.  It also continues a streak of 13 consecutive times (2007-14, 2016-19, 2021) that the company has been recognized by the AGC of Wisconsin (the awards were not given out in 2015 or 2020).

The award was presented to David Martin of  H.J. Martin and Son at the AGC BUILD Wisconsin Awards Ceremony, Sept. 16, 2021 at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wis.

H.J. Martin and Son worked as a specialty contractor with general contractor C.D. Smith Construction and architect Eppstein Uhen Architects on the SECURA project.

Based in Northeast Wisconsin, SECURA Insurance Companies desired to consolidate its employees into a single, modern location resulting in a new 300,000-square-foot headquarters in Fox Crossing, Wis. It was built to accommodate 1,100 employees at a cost of $98 million. The mutual insurance company is represented by 550 independent agencies in 12 states.

H.J. Martin and Son handled the installation of the extensive exterior and interior glass & glazing, including glass entrances and glass walls. The Glass & Glazing division utilized a crew ranging in size from 10-15 installers, working on-site over a 16-month period from March 2018 through June 2019.

Additionally, the H.J. Martin and Son Commercial Flooring division crew joined the project for the final three months leading up to completion in October 2019. The variety of flooring installed features multiple patterns and colors to create wayfinding and themes throughout the building.
