H.J. Martin and Son winner of WFCA Gold Standard Award
H.J. Martin and Son has been named as one of six winners of the 2018 Gold Standard Award, presented annually by the World Floor Covering Association (WFCA), the organization’s CEO, Scott Humphrey, announced. The award recognizes flooring retailers that “have created an outstanding consumer retail experience.”
“We are delighted to have our showrooms recognized by the WFCA,” says Nicole Jensky, director of marketing for H.J. Martin and Son. “We have put great effort into developing user-friendly displays around the most important items to today’s customer.
“Among these are mock showers and custom shower-door displays right in our showrooms, which give the customer the ability to visualize a shower within his or her own home, and full-length hardwood samples.”
The WFCA Gold Standard Award is judged based on four factors: Knowledge, Customer Service, Quality of Store Image, and WFCA Code of Conduct adherence.
Other ways in which H.J. Martin and Son provides an exemplary customer experience, according to Jensky, include hand-written thank-you notes, use of photos to assist with visualization and a Customer Appreciation Program.
“We are committed to product-knowledge meetings and refreshers,” Jensky adds. “We believe the difference H.J. Martin and Son provides is our people. We have a dozen in-house designers, and the skill level of our installers differentiates us in the marketplace.”
H.J. Martin and Son receives WFCA Trade Scholarship funds, along with one-year’s tuition to WFCA University online, in conjunction with the Gold Standard Award.
The World Floor Covering Association is the floor covering industry’s largest advocacy organization. It represents floor covering retailers, contractors and allied service providers throughout North America.
