Project Description:

Located in the heart of Titletown, CliftonLarsonAllen LLP (CLA) is a firm that specializes in delivering integrated wealth advisory, outsourcing, audit, tax, and consulting services. Located on the second floor of the 7-story U.S. Venture Center, H.J. Martin and Son performed work in the following divisions: Walls & Ceilings, Glass & Glazing, and Commerical Flooring. For their work as the ceiling/Acoustical subcontractor, H.J. Martin and Son was awarded the Ceilings and Interior Systems Construction Association’s (CISCA) 2023 Construction Excellence Award.

While the ceiling was a standard 9’ – 10’, the installation was complex in that there were varying angles for the wood slat installation and challenges with the angles for the soffits and ceiling heights to adjoin. Throughout the installation, multiple products arrived with small defects that could have hindered the final look. To work through this, the installation team, led by Site Foreman Adam Farr and Project Manager Matt Kaczmarek, came up with alternate methods to install the products and still achieve the overall desired look. “There were definitely a lot of challenges within this installation, but the team worked together great, and we were able to create a space that is professional yet fosters creativity and collaboration,” says Project Manager Matt Kaczmarek.

The design within the space was unique, with different felt choices throughout with various sizes, shapes, and colors. The architect, BDH, and CLA wanted to put a local spin on their office; featuring texture, patterns, bold colors, and colorful photo art showcasing local streets and landmarks, giving a nod to the community in which the employees work, live, and play. These unique design choices, paired with floor-to-ceiling windows, pull the space together well.

A crew of 2 glass installers put in 3 glass entrances throughout the space. It was a simple job that allowed the crew to be done in just under a week. On the flip side, the flooring installation took more than triple the time and the manpower due to the multitude of flooring colors and patterns chosen.

Across the 23,000 square feet of flooring installed, there were 9 different ceramic tiles and 10 different carpet tiles. Installers were on-site for 3 months to complete the work. The installation was challenging due to the intricate tile and carpet tile designs. To enhance navigation in the expansive space, the brightly colored carpet tiles were thoughtfully arranged in lines and patterns, contributing to effective wayfinding.

This project was more than just a simple interior finish, it was a blend of craftsmanship, innovation, and a deep understanding of the client’s vision. The office’s unique design, infused with local flair and vibrant elements, not only mirrors the firm’s identity but also fosters an environment that encourages creativity and collaboration.
