Company Description: H.J. Martin and Son is a diversified construction company specializing in commercial and residential flooring, glass and glazing, walls and ceilings, commercial doors and hardware, and millwork and fixture installation.
Warehouse Coordinator Position Description: This position would support the Walls & Ceilings division with warehouse operations such as inventory management, shipment coordination, and material delivery to job sites.
Warehouse Coordinator Principal Responsibilities:
- Receiving
- Lift and handle material coming into the warehouse, and properly unload for inspection
- Assist with receiving material daily and scanning the packing slips
- Maintain organization of packing slips
- Maintain inventory accuracy when receiving material – being aware of mistakes and addressing them with the suppliers immediately
- Communicate defects and damages to driver and reject receiving, if necessary
- Assist the Glass and Doors department with receiving, as needed
- Loading/Unloading
- Pull orders, stage, and load vans with special order and stock material, as needed
- Assist with loading and unloading of vans as requested
- Work with management to verify all material returned from phase jobs is returned in the job and reflected in inventory
- Communicate with installers to ensure all material is properly picked – and pull last minute requests as required
- Delivery
- Deliver and unload material to various job site locations in a timely manner and in accordance with applicable state, local, and DOT regulations
- Daily Responsibilities
- Monitor the Inventory Control email group and coordinate material movement – all emails must be addressed and responded to within the hour of the working day (various requests coming from project managers, designers, accounting, etc.)
- Ensure vans are fully stocked with standard stocking items and material to meet installation requirements
- Warehouse Operations
- Organize and label all material and maintain bin locations
- Run daily reports to ensure key areas of the stock inventory are controlled and any discrepancies are addressed and resolved
- Maintain accurate inventory, perform daily, weekly, and quarterly cycle counts, and reconcile variances
- Identify damage, loss, or surplus of materials stored in the warehouse and discuss with proper personnel to sell, donate, or hold for attic stock regularly
- Assist in preparation, execution, and reconciliation of annual inventory audit with management
- Perform inventory spot checks; check over the inventory reports items bin located, but not found or received and not bin located
- Provide help with general shop tasks as required, such as sweeping, cleaning, organization, and maintenance of material locations
Other Duties As Assigned: Performs other related duties as assigned including supporting team members in the completion of their work for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the business.
Experience/Education Required:
- Willing to work flexible hours
- Ability to operate equipment – to include forklift, all-terrain forklift, scissors lift, LULL
- Ability to operate office equipment including computers and copiers
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
- Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and prioritize work, follow through on requests and take initiative, and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Team player
Physical Demands:
- Position requires strenuous physical work, including heavy lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects
