Company Description: H.J. Martin and Son is a diversified construction company specializing in commercial and residential flooring, glass and glazing, walls and ceilings, commercial doors and hardware, and millwork and fixture installation.
Project Manager Position Description: We are seeking a commercial drywall Project Manager for steel studs, drywall, and taping. The position would be within our Walls & Ceilings team.
Project Manager Principal Responsibilities:
- Works closely with the architect/engineer of the customer
- Coordinates estimating, scheduling, and safety efforts
- Conducts pre-bid meetings
- Directs value engineering
- Pre-qualifies subcontractors and suppliers
- Monitors purchasing
- Maintains regular communication with the field
- Provides status reports to team
- Approves and submits monthly pay requests of subcontractors and suppliers
- Partners with Project Coordinator to provide ongoing and accessible support
- Responds to requests for information and presents cost adjustments
Other Duties As Assigned: Performs other related duties as assigned including supporting team members in the completion of their work for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the business.
Experience/Education Required:
- Experience installing drywall, steel studs, and acoustical ceilings is preferred, but not required
- Ability to quickly learn how to read a spec and finish schedule and transfer it to a competitive bid
- Must be proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe
- On Center Software, and Quick Bid knowledge preferred, but not required
- Associate degree in construction, architectural design, or other related area of focus is preferred, but not required
- Must be organized, have attention to detail, and portray a sense of urgency related to completing duties
