Assistant Project Manager Position Description: We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager/Estimator for our commercial Walls and Ceilings division.

Assistant Project Manager Principal Responsibilities:

  • Perform on-screen take-offs based on architectural and structural drawings and specifications
  • Evaluate project information and calculate costs after comprehending job-specific material quantities, labor rates, and productivity rates
  • Source and develop relationships with general contractors, commercial customers, and architects
  • Process Change Orders
  • Perform job site visits to evaluate existing conditions related to the project
  • Attend pre-bid walk-throughs
  • Assist with coordination for installer and department meetings
  • Manage tool inventory for the installation team
  • Order material for contracted jobs
  • Set up pre-job meetings and post-job meetings
  • Keep a detailed log of the actual hours vs. estimated hours by projecting the schedule and comparing it to the current weekly payroll
  • Assist with job close-out documents i.e., warranty letters

Other Duties As Assigned: Performs other related duties as assigned including supporting team members in the completion of their work for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the business.

Experience/Education Required:

  • A two- or four-year degree in construction, engineering, or architectural technology is preferred
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Exceptional organizational skills
