The Lodge is at the center of the Hilldale neighborhood of Madison, the capital city of Wisconsin and home to the state’s flagship university. Overlooking a golf course, it is surrounded by specialty shops, medical and financial services, restaurants and entertainment options.

Built new in three phases, The Lodge is comprised of 194 upscale units, spread across four buildings. It was designed to have the character of a contemporary lodge, along with generous, open and bright living spaces.  There is studio, 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom apartments for residents of The Lodge.

H.J. Martin and Son handled the flooring installation for all three phases: 36 units completed in August 2014, 64 units completed in January 2015 and 94 units completed in October 2017.

In keeping with lodge motif, the flooring installations by H.J. Martin and Son primarily consisted of luxury vinyl plank (LVP) from Earthwerks. Rapture Plank, in a 7×36 size, was installed in the living rooms and kitchens of residential units, while Flagstaff Plank was put into place in the community room and other common areas.

Apartment bedrooms and walk-in closets saw the installation of carpet, while ceramic tile was installed in bathroom spaces. Standard rubber flooring was utilized in the exercise room.

For one phase, a 10-person crew from H.J. Martin and Son was utilized to meet the completion deadline, overcoming an abbreviated installation timeline due to earlier project delays.
