LensCrafters contracted with H.J. Martin and Son to build out their new location as the West Towne Mall in Madison, Wis. forced LensCrafters to relocate. The relocation was to accommodate the construction of a new restaurant in the area of the mall where the current LensCrafters store was.

The result was a 3500-square-foot complete store interior buildout, from bare concrete and structure to a finished product. It took the combined efforts of all the H.J. Martin and Son commercial divisions (Walls & Ceilings, Flooring, Doors & Hardware, Glass & Glazing, Millwork and Fixtures) to complete the project.

A typical timeframe for a job of this scale would be 11-12 weeks, but H.J. Martin and Son was allowed eight weeks to do the work. Even with several mid-project design changes, LensCrafters did not miss a day of business in the turnover from old store to new.

H.J. Martin and Son also completed a second location in Schererville, Ind. in 2015. The store was set up in a brand new strip mall, which allowed the team to utilize lessons learned at the Madison store to offer a great customer experience during the construction.
