H.J. Martin assisted national retailer Bath & Body Works with its new “store within a store” concept, which adds a center room for the product line of its White Barn Candle brand.

The 13-week project utilized an on-site superintendent from H.J. Martin and Son, along with company carpenters.

Working on the Chicago, IL job, H.J. Martin and Son had the task of supervising 10 sub-contractors as the construction manager, H.J. Martin and Son gutted the finishes down to the existing structure before building everything back up in the new store format. This project was completed in September 2017.

The second store, completed in May 2018 in Evergreen Park, IL, was nearly the same project as the Chicago store. Instead of building out an existing space with demolition, this project was going into a brand-new mall being constructed.

The third store was at the San Francisco Center in downtown San Francisco and finished in November 2018. H.J. Martin and Son had to navigate through stringent mall requirements and mall logistics plus train all new subcontractors to work toward a common goal of finishing a quality project on time.
