Company Description: H.J. Martin and Son is a diversified construction company specializing in commercial and residential flooring, glass and glazing, walls and ceilings, commercial doors and hardware, and millwork and fixture installation.

Job Description: We are seeking carpenters experienced in retail casework and architectural millwork installation, that are willing to travel. As a Traveling Casework Carpenter, you will be responsible for installing custom casework projects at various locations nationwide. This role requires a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work within a team to deliver exceptional results.

Traveling Casework Carpenter Principal Responsibilities:

  • Install and assemble custom casework products in commercial settings, including but not limited to cabinets, countertops, trim, and other interior finishes
  • Install and finish various types of trim, including baseboards, casings, and crown molding
  • Ensure work is completed to high-quality standards and within project timelines
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the team, including other carpenters, contractors, and project managers
  • Utilize hand and power tools to ensure accurate measurements, cuts, and joinery
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all company and industry safety standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any installation issues or challenges that may arise during the project
  • Superintendent experience welcomed, but not required
  • Must be able to travel for 2-3 weeks at a time

Experience/Carpentry Technical Skills Required:

  • Millwork construction industry experience is required
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of millwork materials, construction techniques, and industry standards is preferred
  • Must possess the skills to multi-task, work in a team setting, and meet deadlines
  • Forklift and/or scissor lift experience preferred, but not required
  • Valid state driver’s license is required

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background and drug test.
