Company Description: H.J. Martin and Son is a diversified construction company specializing in commercial and residential flooring, glass and glazing, walls and ceilings, commercial doors and hardware, and millwork and fixture installation.
Position Description: This position is responsible for the development, training, and scheduling of our self-performing National Installation team.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Correspond weekly with installers and leads with necessary fact sheet emails, travel instructions/logistics, and arrangements.
- Assist in making installation team calls weekly, or as needed.
- Aid in cross-training installers with other divisions, if the national division is slow, coordinate with other installation coordinators in the company with advance notice to develop our installers’ skills. (A carpenter should have the ability to help in ceiling, drywall, flooring, and general trades.)
- Work to further develop the installer rating system for the national division and database of installers in all areas of the country.
- Stay updated on the changes and capabilities of Smart Time and act as a resource for the traveling installers assigned company equipment.
- Coordinate devices, vehicles, i-passes, hotels, credit cards, and apparel for the installation team.
- Arrange training and safety classes as needed.
- Keep a master list of installer certifications, needed training, and relative licenses.
- Initiate and electronically file all toolbox talks for all projects within the department.
- Schedule and track random drug testing quarterly.
- Back-up for Recruiter on processing applications, scheduling drug screens, and physicals. Track information on New Hire spreadsheet.
- Maintain the new hire orientation paperwork and PowerPoint presentation. Back-up to Recruiter for performing orientation and training.
- Run DMV reports at least twice a year for all employees that live outside of Wisconsin to verify that licenses are still valid.
- Create and process payroll deductions, as needed.
- Process and approve payroll and receipts for jobs that do not fall under one of the Project Managers.
- Point of contact for union items; indenturing, sponsor letters, class schedules, requests to remove employees from class due to workload, progress reports, etc.
- Process term sheets and track/record employees on a Do Not Rehire spreadsheet.
- Process toll invoices.
- Assist in planning and organizing company meetings.
- Review company intranets to verify photos and employee lists for the division.
- Create fact sheets for all jobs not run by a division Project Manager.
- Create and update department documents.
Other Duties As Assigned: Performs other related duties as assigned including supporting team members in the completion of their work for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the business.
