Company Description: H.J. Martin and Son is a diversified construction company specializing in commercial & residential flooring, glass, walls & ceilings, commercial doors & hardware, and millwork & fixture installation.

Position Description: This position is responsible for the development, training, and scheduling of our Commercial Flooring installation team.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Assist in scheduling labor forces to meet schedule needs of commercial flooring scheduling (flooring and ceramic tile)
  • Assist in selecting, training and coaching the installation team to abide by company standards and practices
  • Attend weekly meetings with office team to review and track on-going jobs
  • Manage installation of jobs and update project managers with necessary information
  • Organize and procure necessary special equipment needed for jobs; assist in making sure equipment is in good condition and ready to function
  • Follow up on orders to get accurate material estimated time arrivals
  • Stage material daily for commercial jobs
  • Enter adhesive, sundries and metals used on jobs into RFMS on a daily basis
  • Facilitate material needed and assist in loading vans for installers to take to job sites
  • Work with project managers, installers, customers and general contractors to maintain outlined schedules
  • Perform regular site visits to multiple projects weekly to check site conditions, complete moisture testing, coordinate work and schedule with the customer, and take detailed notes to share with Project Managers and office team
  • When necessary, meet with customers and field measure sites for projects
  • Review electronic timecards for installation team on a weekly basis, and turn them into the office in an accurate and efficient manner
  • Maintain paperwork for jobs and invoices including plans, finish schedules, special notes, and time & material notes
  • Turn in and organize installer paperwork such as receipts, mileage sheets, attic stock lists, pictures from jobsite and punch lists
  • Act as a vital communication line between office, distribution center and installers
  • Provide basic stock checks as necessary, and signal for replacement orders, if necessary
  • Deliver materials to job site if needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience/Education Required:

  • Background knowledge of ceramic and flooring installation methods
  • Familiarity with computer and basic software programs
  • Software experience preferred, but not required: Microsoft Office/Windows, RFMS, Schedule Pro, OnScreen, FloorRight
  • Detailed oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at any given time
  • Strong written & oral communication skills
  • Ability to operate or be certified to operate a forklift
  • Must have valid driver’s license (CDL is a bonus)
  • Willing to work flexible hours
