H.J. Martin and Son helped Burlington to develop a Green Bay (Wis.) store location in 2013. From that initial interaction grew a burgeoning business relationship, which saw H.J. Martin and Son handle fixture installations at 49 Burlington locations across the United States in the second and third quarters of 2014. With Burlington stores averaging 80,000 square feet, H.J. Martin and Son spent five to eight days working at each of 47 locations, remodeling the Home and Accessories departments, following an earlier pre-site survey. The company also performed full-store fixture installations at three new stores, in Brooklyn, N.Y., Hanover, Pa., and Orlando, Fla. A national off-price retailer of apparel, home and baby products, Burlington has more than 500 stores throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico; the company had net sales of $4.4 billion in fiscal 2013.
- H.J. Martin and Son handled the Home and Accessory Fixture Install in 47 Burlington locations across the continental U.S. from June to September 2014; work was phased in sections to allow each store to remain open during the remodel.
- Eight H.J. Martin and Son crews, each consisting of six to eight people, worked on the project, completing each store in the scheduled duration of 1 to 1.5 weeks. For the 1.5-week stores, crews would split up to finish one store while starting the next store during the same timeframe.
- At nine Burlington locations in California, H.J. Martin and Son performed additional work which included carpet removal, floor prep, carpet tile installation and wall patching/painting.
