Dowdy and Woodland take on department management for H.J. Martin and Son
Green Bay, Wis. – Project Managers Curt Dowdy and Bret Woodland of the H.J. Martin and Son National Installation Division recently were promoted to Project Executives. The move helps structure the project manager and coordinator teams to best serve our national customer base.
Dowdy has been employed with H.J. Martin and Son since 2001, starting out as a carpenter with the commercial Walls & Ceilings Division. He then became a traveling carpenter and later a superintendent with the National Installation Division and worked his way into the Project Manager role before taking on Project Executive in 2021. During his time in the field, Curt was a member of the Local 731 International Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Union based out of Sheboygan and Manitowoc.
The customers Curt services and manages have accounted for some of our largest employment and sales growth throughout the company’s history in sectors including fitness, home improvement, grocery, and retail.
Woodland joined H.J. Martin and Son in 2012 as an assistant project manager in the National Installation Division and was promoted in 2014 to Project Manager and is a Project Executive as of 2021. He oversees the work with highly recognized retailers across the United States, primarily focused on construction management, fixture installation, remodels, and rollouts.
Under Bret’s leadership, H.J. Martin and Son has completed more than 2,500 retail locations nationwide. He has helped H.J. Martin and Son maintain placement on the ENR Top 600 largest specialty contractors list annually since 2014.
Moving Dowdy and Woodland into these roles is an exciting move for H.J. Martin and Son. They will be managing a team of 13 corporate employees and a 300-person plus installation crew.
“Curt and Bret are true leaders and will only further the success of our fixture installation team,” CEO and President Edward Martin said. “They are both highly motivated and together will work with their team to provide the best installation work for our clients.”
Additionally, the division is changing a handful of other roles to further support the team’s growth. Project Coordinator Amanda Kohlbeck has been promoted to Project Manager and Project Coordinators Theresa Freeman and Brice Triphan have been promoted to Assistant Project Managers. The division added a new Project Coordinator, Abigail Grant, and a new Administrative Assistant, Leah Grant.
